Location: Honolulu, HI 

Pay: This position has a fixed rate of $25/hour 

Experience:

1. Prior experience operating heavy or construction equipment is a plus
2. Mechanical background, general labor experience, or trade school experience is preferred

Education:

1. High school diploma or GED required 
2. ASE or MACS A/C certification a plus but not required

Type: Full-time; Temp to hire

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm

Employers Options is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Tech to join a growing and dynamic team! The Equipment Maintenance Technician will begin building a successful career as a heavy equipment service professional by learning to maintain and repair Kubota and Komatsu equipment under the guidance of experienced mechanics. In this role, they will assist with troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance while developing a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and drivetrain systems. Responsibilities include performing routine maintenance and minor repairs such as oil changes, lubrication, tire and battery replacements, hose repairs, and equipment cleaning, painting, and greasing. The technician will also learn to interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics, document work orders and service records using the CDK system, and complete Kubota University online training modules as part of their progression toward Certified Service Technician status.

Job Description:   

1. CDK system operation for work orders, warranty documentation, and repairs
2. Assist with basic mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
3. Handle cleaning, painting, greasing, and prepping equipment for rental or sale
4. Operate hand and pneumatic power tools
5. Perform preventative maintenance within safety compliance guidelines
6. Assist with basic troubleshooting under supervision

Position Requirements:    

1. Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record required
2. Must own basic tools
3. Forklift certification preferred (can be trained on site)
4. Boom lift certification a plus
5. Must be comfortable working at heights
6. Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance independently
7. Ability to use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments
8. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, specifications, and work orders
